Today,looking at Tata Motors' association with Lionel Messi as the Global Ambassador, I am reminded of a personal #madeofgreat story that I witnessed.
My dad is a bookworm and so is my sister but I never was. I was one of those kids who scream and make a fuss everyday before going to school. I did not like books, I did not like studying and I could not understand why these grown-ups wanted us kids to go to school everyday. Then when I was in 2nd class, my dad was transferred to Varanasi and I had to enroll in a new school. Here I met my English teacher, Manjula Ma'am who changed my whole perspective on education, studying and life itself.
She was the most soft spoken, sweet tempered and loving teacher I ever met. She taught us in such a low voice and there was just something about her that everyone went into pin-drop silence mode when she entered the class. There was a quiet dignity in everything she did and it was easy to see why everyone was so respectful of hers. She never gave any of us punishment, even for not doing our homework! Just a simple 'do it tomorrow please' and nothing else. In fact, we always made sure that we did all our work in time just so we would not disappoint her. In class, she would not just teach us from books, but tell us amazing stories beyond our syllabus. She brought heavy books of Shakespeare, O'Henry, Jane Austen and taught us their stories in simplest language thus helping us understand the basic story and not get scared of the width of those books. Then she asked us to paint whatever we felt like based on the story we heard. How amazing! Painting to teach us English? And it worked wonders. We got so enamored by stories,we went to library on our own and poured over these books. She never asked us to simply write answers but to think and make up our own answers. There were no rights or wrongs in life, she said, only what you make of it.
It was much later that I came to know she came from a poor family and was the sole breadwinner of the family. Her quite personality, her dignity, her intelligence, they never even made us suspect of the dire conditions of her personal life and that was how she taught us the values of struggle, discipline, dedication and using our brain to get ahead in life.
Till date,I am in touch with her and I hope that she gets all the happiness in her life.
Tata Motors has entered into a legendary partnership with Lionel Messi and in this contest they are giving away an amazon voucher of Rs. 750 for simply telling 'What do you think of this association of Tata Motors with Lionel Messi?' This ends on 26th Nov before 11.59 PM.

The association of Tata Motors with Lionel Messi is that of two greats. Lionel Messi has been exceptionally talented who with his hard work, determination and sacrifices has got better and tougher in his chosen sport so is the Image, reputation and quality of TATA Motors that have transformed brilliant ideas into masterpieces of engineering and created a brand and products that we are so proud of as Indians. Lionel Messi has transformed his body and the mind body co-ordination into a masterpiece of precision and excellence it would not be wrong to say that Lionel Messi is the TATA Motors of sports where as TATA Motors is the Lionel Messi of vehicles both giants in their own spheres driven by the drive to excel and lead by example. So Lionel Messi is the best choice for becoming the brand Ambassador for TATA Motors

I was touched when I learnt that Messi is also the ambassador for UNICEF for his noble deeds for the betterment of children across the globe. That makes him great, greater than the football legend in him. On the other side, our Tata Motors could think of making several Indian middle class dreams alive with their Nano. Definitely there’s a touch of humanity behind this. Their association sound to me like humanity meets humanity!

Tata Motors' association with Lionel Messi spells a significantly notable alliance that will steer the company towards favourable benefits. I always acknowledge Tata Motors as a distinctive name in Auto industry, which will not let the success 'larger-than life' elude from its fate now with a timeless guild with iconic figure Messi. I don't see this union of Tata Motors as an aspirational effort for garnering some quick publicity and evoke specific reaction from myriad crowd with Celeb branding, but is rightly an embellished handshake for keeping up the pace to get to the pinnacle of success graph. To sum things up, I am joyous to see the brand and the star uniting for 'One in a Million' #madeofgreat power-packed drive ahead :)

While we could go on and on about how they are respective bests in their industries, how Messi is the best footballer in the world and Tata Motors a global automatize behemoth, I think this partnership works because they both have a spark of humanity, which is difficult to find.
Tata Motors obviously is a global giant and a symbol of pride for all Indians. Messi is an inspiration as he has moulded his personal struggle into a story of success all with his hardwork, their stories start at the grassroots level and reach the highest pinnacles which we want to achieve too. This is extraordinary partnership as it propels Tata Motors even more robustly on the global stage and Messi's humility is perfectly complimented with Tata Motors' brand of quiet elegance and excellence. It is the humanity, ethics and a thread of philanthropy at the very core of Tata and Messi's life that makes this a perfect partnership. Watching a success story spiral upwards is easy, it is what that success translates into that is more important.
